Dec Stats and update

Not much news as of late. I only have one stat for December - weight: 147, so after all the holiday eating and eating much more every day than I have in the past, I haven't gained any weight (and the line was definitely on 147, not in the blurry space in between. Can't complain.... honestly, I thought I would gain after all the eating...

I took Thanksgiving off, and it was the right thing to do - no more poems about the pain .... for now....

I started again last Monday (11/26), the run, strength, swim....all went well. I was off the hook for Thursday's swim - we saw Avenue Q at the National Theater, great, irreverent musical - I recommend to all who like satiric musicals - but this is NOT FOR CHILDREN, in spite of the muppet-like puppets....

Friday was a day off. It was not too cold Saturday morning, so went for the run - I don't know if I'm running faster or the cold weather is affecting me, or some sort of odd combination, but I had to slow down to cover the "heartpoundingoutofthechest" feeling on the run - though considering running through it, I reminded myself that I'm no longer 18, and it would be quite embarrassing to collapse right there on the street - though I do now have a Road ID dog tag that at least gives contact information should that ever happen..... (heh, heh, the FIXX ID with a triathlon image on the back.....couldn't resist..... I won't reveal the quote I put at the bottom of my information just yet.....)

Biked on Sunday - I'm not certain, but I think the suicidal squirrel that was making fun of me when I first started running had it in for me again - I had just started off, working my way up the steep ski jump outside the house, when I saw the squirrel stopped in the middle of the road, too close to either side for me to make an obvious wide swath around him (not to mention I was huffing and puffing up hill - not the easiest time to try some smooth stunt-like maneuver.....) I kept getting closer, and he just sat there, eyeing me with his beady little eye, tail frozen in concentration - did he flee at a decent distance? Nope, not in the least - he waited until I was literally on top of him, and... faking right... ran left..... right in front of me, as I tried to move the way he had faked me out.....should be a linebacker in football...... I had to slam on my breaks - he was literally under my tire - I just missed him..... and had to stop..... I could hear him chittering at me, as I struggled on the bike to regain any momentum to keep moving uphill..... I kept thinking he couldn't recognize me - I was on a bike, not running this time, then I realized I was wearing the same old maroon LL Bean windbreaker pullover I have been wearing on all exercises - one I bought for about 5 bucks in SC when I was a poor grad student..... He must have recognized that jacket and had it in for me..... doofus squirrel*

The ride was noneventful after that, though, on the way home, I decided to ride up next to the Capitol, a real steep hill - I made it up, at the end of the ride, nonetheless, without stopping, though at less than a-foot-a-minute pace and huffing and puffing (not strong enough to blow that house of straw down, unfortunately, though).

Ok, enough for now, or I'll sound crazy.....
